ARTIFACT:
Great circa 1968 United States Navy Assault Support Patrol Boat (ASPB) or Alpha Boat, A 53 pocket patch. This example was made in Saigon by Cheap Charlies and features Snoopy standing on a small boat or raft on the water, his red scarf waving in the wind. The bottom of the patch shows the embroidered letters: "ASPB" in red detail. Alpha Boats were tasked with minesweeping and assault missions as part of the "Brown River" river fleet working to assist the ARVN (Army of the Republic of Viet Nam) in fighting Viet Cong forces.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1968.
SIZE:
Approximately 3-5/8" in height x 2-1/2" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Embroidered cotton, silk/polyester/cotton threads, muslin backing.
ATTACHMENT:
To be sewn onto uniform.

CONDITION:
8- (Very Fine - Excellent): The patch shows minor wear and soiling, masking tape remnants on reverse, the colors remain bright, overall excellent condition.
