ARTIFACT: Beautiful and minty 1930's Hartford, Connecticut Metropolitan District badge in heavy 10K gold fill by Savitt's of Hartford. The lovely embellished badge features is a blue enameled disc at the center which reads: "INCORPORATED 1929 SEAL" and a white enamel ring surrounding it reads: "THE METROPOLITAN DISTRICT HARTFORD COUNTY, CONNECTICUT" and is embellished with a nice rope detail. The top of the badge shows a blue enameled scroll/banner that reads: "COMMISSIONER" and below: "METROPOLITAN DISTRICT" on raised gold fill with blue enamel detail. It is probable that this badge belonged to George A. Wardinski who was also Fire & Aviation Commissioner of Hartford at one time as it came from the same source.
