ARTIFACT: Beautiful 1910's – 1920's match safe from the Alfred Holt Shipping Lines / Blue Funnel Line Ship TSS Ascanius. The silver-plated nickel safe shows an enameled flag in blue, white, and yellow detail with the letters: "AH" in the center and "T. S. S. ASCANIUS" engraved below. The inside of the safe cover shows the depression that contains the enamel embellishment.

VINTAGE: Circa 1910's – 1920's

SIZE: Approximately 2-3/8" x 1-3/4" (closed) 4-1/2" x 1-3/4" (open)

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enameled, silver-plated nickel

ATTACHMENT: Hinged lid

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine—Excellent): The match case shows moderate surface wear, much of the enamel detail remains intact, overall handsome patina.
