ARTIFACT: This is a rare circa World War I ambulance or transport vehicle radiator mascot for the Volunteer Motor Corps, which provided transport of medical supplies, health professionals and patients alike. The mascot was patented in 1915 by Louis V. Aronson, the prolific inventor who also created Ronson lighters. It has a large painted green cross at its center and is mounted to a modern base made of marble and wood.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 5-1/4" in height; base measures 2-7/16" by 5".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Mascot: steel, painted areas; base: marble and wood.

ATTACHMENT: Mascot bolted onto base.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The mascot has some small areas of light to medium wear, mostly along its edges and a bit on the painted area.
