ARTIFACT:
This is a German-made advertising tape measure for Portsmouth Savings Bank in Portsmouth, New Hampshire from the 1910s. Portsmouth Savings Bank at one time occupied the northern half of the oldest bank building in America, at 22-26 Market Square, and even shared space with a saloon at the turn of the twentieth century. The tape resembles a yo-yo in shape and size and the tape is a bright red.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1910s.
SIZE:
Approximately 1-5/8" in diameter and 11/16" width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Celluloid, plated brass, painted cloth tape.
ATTACHMENT:
Loop at end of tape.
MARKINGS:
GERMANY; MADE IN GERMANY.
ITEM NOTES:

CONDITION:
8 (Excellent-): The tape measure is in great condition but is a little tricky to retract.
