ARTIFACT: Gorgeous circa 1930's Bayonne City, New Jersey fire captain's gold front badge. The center shows a sailing ship in raised detail against a background of blue enamel , the top of the badge features an eagle with a scroll in its beak that reads: "CAPTAIN" and beneath: "BAYONNE CITY FIRE DEPT. N.J." in blue enamel detail.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930's

SIZE: Approximately Badge: 2-3/4" x 1-5/8"; Leather: 3-3/16" x 2-3/16"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold front, brass, enamel, leather

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop in locking catch.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The badge shows moderate wear, some enamel loss in the center and to the letter "O" (does not detract), leather is worn, soft, and supple, overall very fine condition.
