ARTIFACT: This is a stunning sterling silver clan badge for Clan Mackay date-marked 1901. Clan Mackay is an early clan from the Scottish Highlands, known for their support of King Robert the Bruce. The badge was made in Birmingham, United Kingdom. The badge shows a hand with an upward-thrust dirk at the center with engraved details upon its grip. The hand is encircled by a garter bearing the motto MANU FORTI (With a strong hand).

VINTAGE: Date-marked 1901.

SIZE: Approximately 1-7/8" in height and 1-3/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal T-style pin with C catch.

MARKINGS: Maker mark and anchor, lion & "b" marks (date-stamped 1901, made in Birmingham).
