ARTIFACT: Early 1960's United States Air Force 75th Fighter – Interceptor Squadron (FIS) jacket patch from when the Squadron was flying F-101's out of Dow Air Force Base. The 75th is one of the original squadrons of the 23rd Fighter Group and while at Dow in the '60's, the 75th participated in the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. The center of the patch features an embroidered shark, mouth open, teeth bloodied, with artillery being launched from under the fin. Surrounding the outer edge are embroidered rings of white and black, above the shark it shows: "75th".

VINTAGE: Circa early 1960's

SIZE: Approximately 3-7/8" in diameter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Embroidered, silk/cotton/polyester thread, gauze backing

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The patch shows moderate wear and light fading, was removed from clothing, overall very fine condition.
