ARTIFACT: This is a rare hardcover copy of "The Sky Lancer: 417 Bomb Group", a book about the United States Army Air Forces 417th Bombardment Group. A seven page history of the activity of the 417th during their South West Pacific stint is recorded here, including several photographs, as well as unit rosters and a list of both awards and men killed in action. There are full pages of color insignia of the 672nd, 673rd, 674th and 675th Bombardment Squadrons, as well as the 852 Chemical Division. This book was printed in Australia in 1946.

VINTAGE: Circa post-World War II (1946).

SIZE: 220 pages with a black and white photographs and illustrations; approximately 11" in height and 8-3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Glossy paper dust jacket, cloth-bound cover, glossy paper.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.

MARKINGS: MRS. PEARL E. BLOCK EPPING NEW HAMPSHIRE label inside front cover; REGINALD G. BLOCK 1947 ex libris inside back cover; Registered at G.P.O., Sydney, for transmission by post as a book. 1946 Printed by John Sands Pty. Ltd., Sydney, N.S.W. Australia.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. RIJ92 LFGEX4/13

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The book itself is in excellent shape with almost no wear to the cover and no stains or tears inside. Dust jacket (5+: Fine-) is faded in spots with many tears and is very fragile.
