ARTIFACT: This is a World War II unit history of the United States Army Air Forces 1st Air Division written by Captain Robert F. Merritt, public relations officer. The book has several illustrations and black and white photographs, many in post-war Okinawa, and illustrations by McFadden of the Daily Okinawan. Many of the captions are very interesting, with commentary on the culture and peoples of the Pacific. The book was published in 1947.

VINTAGE: Published circa 1947.

SIZE: 68 pages; approximately 8-1/4"e; in height and 11" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Oaktag cover, pulp paper.

ATTACHMENT: Stapled binding.

MARKINGS: "316th Bombardment Wing VH" stamped on cover; 1947 1st Air Division A.F. Hegenberger Major General USA Commanding.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWII USAAF unit history collection that we will be listing more of over the next few months. LAAEX1/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The book has some light aging and a minor stain on the cover but is in overall excellent condition.
