ARTIFACT: This is a World War II unit history of the United States Army Air Forces 461st Bomb Group (Heavy) entitled "Liberaiders: Al Ataque!" ("Al Ataque" means "Attack!" in Italian). The 461st was attached to the 15th Air Force and included the 764th, 765th, 766th and 767th Bomb Squadrons. Activated July 1, 1943, the group served in France and Italy. The book is a collection of photos documenting the travels of the group. It is the Special Service Pictorial Booklet Italian Edition published in December 1944. The original owner of the book has added oftentimes humorous commentary alongside some of the photos.

VINTAGE: Published December 1944.

SIZE: 47 pages; approximately 6-1/4" in height and 9-1/2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Oaktag cover, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.

MARKINGS: Special Service Pictorial Booklet Italian Edition Dicembre 1944 Giuseppe Rispoli (...) Napoli; handwritten comments throughout.

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The booklet has some fading/wear to the cover: very fine condition inside with some minor yellowing and creasing; scattered handwritten commentary.
