ARTIFACT: This is a rare unit history of the United States Army Air Forces 82nd Fighter Group ("82nd Fighter Group: 2nd Anniversary Overseas"). Constituted in 1942, the 82nd was originally designated as the 82nd Pursuit Group Interceptor, and a part of the 12th Air Force. The group moved from North Africa to Italy in 1943, although they had been involved in missions to Italy previously, and became attached to the 15th Air Force. The short booklet shows a map and has only four full pages of text. It is oversized and was printed in-theatre.

VINTAGE: Circa 1944.

SIZE: 8 pages with a black and white map; approximately 11-7/8"e; in height and 9-1/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Printed paper.

ATTACHMENT: Stapled binding.

MARKINGS: PASSED FOR MAILING BY BASE CENSORSHIP DETACHMENT #6.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The book shows some light wear and aging with a few very small spots of discoloration to the cover. No rips, stains or writing inside.
