ARTIFACT: This is a rare restricted copy of the "e;AAFWTTC Flight Engineer Handbook B-29"e;. WTTC stands for the Western Technical Training Command, the headquarters of which were at Denver. This book was put out by the USAAF Technical School at Lowry Field, Colorado in mid-1944 for B-29 crew training. The title page is named to T/Sgt. Benjamin L. Kasper. We do not know much about Kasper, save that he eventually achieved Major Sergeant status and died in 2000 in California. The handbook has several graphs, charts and illustrations, and many fold-out pages. Chapter headings range from "Flight Operational Problem Examples" to "mixture Control at Constant RPM".

VINTAGE: Published July 21, 1944 (World War II).

SIZE: 167 pages including black and white illustrations, charts, and some fold-out pages. Some blank "Notes" pages at the end. Approximately 7-3/4"e; in height and 6-3/8" in width and 3/8" in thickness.

No stains or writing (except the owner's info on title page) inside the book.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
